Starlight Concert and Dinner Tickets

Join the Plano West, Jasper and Shepton high school marching bands as they perform parts of their 2021 shows. This performance is free and open to the community.
You are also invited to join us for a Dickey's BBQ meal (with a vegetarian option) inside Plano West prior to the show. Dinner is $12 and must be purchased in advance. Ice cream will also be sold at the event. 

(Tickets are sold via Plano West Website, create an account with Plano West to purchase dinner tickets-concert is free)
The performance is outside on the band pad. We recommend you bring a chair and sit on the Plano West side of the "field" as students will face that direction.

Items Needed for Band

Band is an exciting experience where kids get together, work hard and enjoy each with music and hard work!
Band also has more gear than the other musical disciplines. 

There are items that students must order on our website, please click "read more" to review those.  These items listed below are supplies/uniform gear which can be purchased in area stores or online: 

1. Khaki Shorts (length must also comply with PISD's dress code)

2. Foundations for Superior Performance, 
by Richard Williams and Jeff King, also known as the blue book.  We used this book last year at Jasper and it is used by some middle school bands.  There is no need to purchase a new book if you already have a copy.  Be sure to purchase the correct book for your instrument.  Percussionists should purchase the Percussion book.

3. Essential Musicianship, for Band, Ensemble Concepts, by Eddie Green, John Benzer and David Bertman. 
This is an orange book.  We used this book last year at Jasper.  Be sure to purchase the correct book for your instrument.  Percussionists should purchase the Percussion book.

4. 101 Rhythmic Rest Patterns,by Grover C. Yaus.  This book was also used last year at Jasper. Be sure to purchase the correct book for your instrument. Percussionists should purchase the Drums book.     


5. Lyre and flip folder for marching and stand music.  *Flutes only need the flip folder.

Uniform Fitting Schedule

UNIFORM FITTING

  • Students are required to have their Band Uniform for all games.  
  • August 9th is Band Photos. Students need to be in their uniforms that day
  • You must have paid out your band balance by July 31st in order for us to release your uniforms to you.

Saturday, July 31st at 8:30 am to 4:00pm

with Special Guest Workshop Leader on Tuesday, July 20 @ Plano West 9:00am-4:00pm.

Camp Fee is for Tuesday's Training at Plano West

Each band student MUST register for the 2021-2022 School Year: 

Please click below for the correct registration link for your child's status: 
(Please double check your account to ensure that your child's status is "Active" and their correct Marching year and and type is correct i.e. 1st or 2nd year Marcher, 1st or 2nd Year percussion, or 1st or 2nd Year Color Guard)

**IMPORTANT: You will NOT have access to the form until your Child's status is up-to-date in your account. If you have created your account prior to June 29th, you will need to update your account again as our system has re-set itself as of June 30th.

Band Parent Volunteers Needed!

Jasper Band will have many events/programs which will require parent volunteers such as chaperones, food distribution, banquet, etc. In order for anyone to volunteer in PISD, they must first fill out PISD's Volunteer Application on VOLY. Please click on the link below to start the process!

Under the direction of Director Elyse Lim and Assistant Band Director Kyle Johnson, the band includes four full concert bands, a jazz ensemble program, percussion ensembles, color guard, and a marching band of 200 members. The band has consistently earned exemplary awards at University Interscholastic League (UIL) state competitions, receiving first division ratings in marching, concert, and sightreading contests.
