For Solos:
Regarding Accompanists, you will be responsible for hiring your own accompanist or opt to use the service in Austin that provides accompanists for hire. Please contact Mr. Johnson if you wish to do the latter.

Congratulations to all those who've made it to the Jasper Jazz Bands!!

It's exciting, as this year we have, for the first time at Jasper, 3 Jazz Bands!! 

 Jasper Jazz Ensemble (Competition Band)

Swing Band

Big Band

If you made it to any of these 3 bands, there is a small fee to help cover the cost of music and travel. 

$40 for Jazz Ensemble
$20 for Big Band or Swing Band

Spring Trip 2023

2022 Spring Trip will be a fun AWAY trip with choir and orchestra. The estimated total cost is *$450. This price is not fixed as prices may go up depending on the number of students attending and any other unforeseen increases in gas/hospitality sector in the next few months. 


You may opt to pay in full after the first deposit or choose to submit installments of $100 until FEBRUARY.

First Game Day Performance: August 24

The Band's first game performance will be on

Wednesday, August 24

**If you did not purchase a Game Day meal for your child, please bring their meal to Jasper by 4:10pm

  • Students will stay after school and eat their meal @ 4:15pm
  • Be in the Band Hall by 4:45pm to Change into their Uniform
  • 4:45pm-5:00pm load and board the buses 
  • 6:00pm-6:15pm Arrive at Stadium (Clark or Kimborough)
  • Sit in the designated Stand Area for Band; will perform to increase
  • Half-Time Performance on the field (time varies)
  • 9:30pm Load and Board buses
  • Arrival time to Jasper is aproximately 10:00pm -Parents will be sent notification on ETA via Band App

Band Parent Volunteers Needed!

Plano ISD's Volunteer Background Check forms can now be completed and updated through Voly for the 2022-2023 school year. If you are volunteering at Jasper in any capacity including Band, or for any other school within the district, this background check must be completed before you will be able to volunteer.

This is the form that resets each July 1st and is required to be updated each year even if you volunteered during the last school year.

CHARMS - Please check/update your information on CHARMS. CHARMS is a communications platform for our band directors to  keep track of students, send out notifications, etc. This will carry over into Plano West as well.

Our school code is: JasperHSband.


We are slowly phasing out the use of REMIND and moving to the BAND App.

This App sends text messages to keep you up-to-date on any new info, pick-up/drop-off, concerts, reminders for music, All-Region, last minute changes, etc.

By May 26th, please note that you have 3 things to check off on your To-Do list:
(Please note, not every child will need to check-out a school-owned instrument) 

  • School Instrument Check-out: 3:00 - 5:00 pm 

  • Physical Evaluations Due   
    2 Forms
    Form 1-Physical Evaluation Form: Requires Physical Exam by a physician
    Form 2-Medical History Form: Parent/ Child fills out this form

  • Mandatory Full Band 2022-2023 Parent meeting 7:00 pm, JHS Cafeteria

Under the direction of Director Kyle Johnson and Assistant Band Director Noah Patton (Joined in 2022), the band includes four full concert bands, a jazz ensemble program, percussion ensembles, color guard, and a marching band of 200 members. The band has consistently earned exemplary awards at University Interscholastic League (UIL) state competitions, receiving first division ratings in marching, concert, and sightreading contests.
